It’s Your Water, Dang It

You probably figure it’s your water and everything will be as it’s always been. All’s good, right?

Actually, no.

In all of the arid Western states, water management is up for grabs and in some states water ownership is a question mark. The water we’re talking about is produced/by-product water that comes from industry, mostly the oil industry. For decades, that water was thrown away down an injection well, never to be heard from again.

But now, that water can be cleaned to match surrounding soil and applied to the ground for ag and conservation. In some states, the oil industry is happy to keep tossing your water down into a hole. We think you’d rather that water be used for ag and conservation, if not for no other reason than your aquifer isn’t being drained for those uses.

In other states, strategic oil and midstream companies are playing a game of chess where they can end up with ownership of that water and then they can sell it back to municipalities or agriculturalists.

We think maybe you’d like your water to be used for a beneficial purpose – instead of wasting it or using it to increase the bottom line of industry.

What do you think?
